GOOSE CREEK, S.C.–The South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation & Tourism recently awarded the City of Goose Creek  a $100,000 Recreational Trails Program grant to construct a new trailhead with a 60-space parking facility and 1,000 linear feet of hiker/biker trail for the Wannamaker North Trail.

The Wannamaker North bike trail is an 8-mile loop that runs through a wooded tract of Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission (CCPRC) property adjacent to the city limits of Goose Creek along Westview Boulevard.

CCPRC is currently utilizing a temporary trailhead that can be accessed from Westview Boulevard.

The design work for the project will begin in early February with a projected completion date of December 31, 2014.
