BONNEAU BEACH, S.C.–On March 11, Berkeley Co. deputies say they responded to a shooting at 1022 Old Horseshoe Road in Bonneau Beach.

When they arrived, they found one person suffering from a gunshot wound to his left upper arm.

According to an incident report, the shooting stemmed from an argument of some sort.  At some point, the victim told deputies the suspect, Salek Nelson, 36, drove down the street and fired shots at the incident location.

Originally, the suspect had been taken into custody and charged with one count of possessing a weapon during a violent crime and one count of possessing a weapon by a convicted felon.  Bond was set at $50,000 each.

He is now facing three counts of attempted murder.  A bond amount has yet to be set on the new charges.

Nelson remains behind bars at the Berkeley Co. detention center.  The victim’s injuries were not life-threatening and has since been released from the hospital.
