BONNEAU, S.C.–According to Susan Haire, a spokesperson for the Berkeley County School District, around 6:30 a.m. a bus carrying 45 Macedonia Middle and Bonner Elementary students was involved in a minor crash.

Haire says a car rear-ended the bus, and authorities were called to the scene.  Luckily, there were no serious injuries.

As an added precaution, 12 students were transported to the hospital where they received medical attention.

Another bus transported the other students to school.  Administrators from both schools arrived to the scene, and parents have been notified.

The accident occurred on Black Oak Road in Bonneau, approximately 1/8 mile away from Highway 52.
