ST. STEPHEN, S.C.–Move over, Lassie.  A new cute pup has captured the hearts of American audiences everywhere–okay, well, at least for a few minutes anyway.

On Tuesday, St. Stephen resident, Kirby Easler, and her dog, Grabel, appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman on CBS.

The segment was called ‘Stupid Pet Tricks’, and Grabel’s trick was the ability to talk. Yep, you read correctly–TALK.

According to Easler, Grabel, a Yorkshire Terrier, will say the name of the president when asked. Upon hearing this, Letterman became very excited and said, “After all these years, we finally have a talking dog.”

Easler then kneels down and holds a treat up and asks, “Who is the president?” and Grabel’s response is “Obama” (in a muffled growl, of course).

Letterman then came up and, after getting a treat from Easler, asks the dog, “secretary of state?” sadly to no avail.
