4-H accepting participants for ‘Wildlife Food Plot Project’

garden plotBERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.-The SC 4-H Program is accepting applications from youth ages 5-19 who are interested in participating in the 2014 ‘SC Wildlife Food Plot Project.’

Participants will prepare, establish maintain and observe a small food plot that will provide food and cover establishment for game animals and other wildlife species.

The project lasts through the beginning of January.

Youth will record observations in a record book throughout the project. Books will be divided into three age groups for judging. Awards will be given at local, regional and state levels.

Registration is due by August 15. Plots should be planted by October 1.

The fee to participate is $10 for current 4-H members and $20 for non-members.
