BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–According to Berkeley Co. Sheriff’s Office Spokesperson Dan Moon, the deputy involved in a wreck a week ago in Goose Creek has resigned from the sheriff’s office after failing to notify his supervisor that his driver’s license was suspended.

Chief Deputy Rick Ollic of the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office said Deputy Justice Jenkins’ last day was August 15 after the sheriff’s office was notified that his driving privilege had been suspended on August 4, 2014.

Ollic added that employees are required to disclose any change in their motor vehicle driving records.

He also stated that as of this past June when an audit was conducted of motor vehicle records of employees, the deputy’s record did not show a suspension.
