Two people killed in separate traffic accidents overnight

crashBERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.—According to Berkeley Co. Deputy Coroner George Oliver, at 12:49 a.m. Sedaris Mabry, 55, of Moncks Coroner, was struck by a truck on North Live Oak Drive in Moncks Corner.

The accident happened near Berkeley Middle School. Oliver stated that the truck left the scene of the accident and was later found near 17A and State Road by a Berkeley County Sheriff’s deputy.

Oliver ruled the death accidental.

Less than two hours after that fatal collision, the coroner’s office responded to another fatality.

According to Deputy Coroner Darnell Hartwell, at 2:00 a.m. Andra Robinson, 30, of Moncks Corner was driving on Highway 45 when he ran off the right side of the roadway and hit a tree.

Hartwell stated that he was pinned in the vehicle and was extricated by the fire department and Berkeley Co. Rescue Squad.

He was then transported to a local emergency room and pronounced dead.

Hartwell has ruled the death as accidental and the cause of death is from injuries received from the accident.

The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol are investigating both accidents.
