BONNEAU, S.C.–American Red Cross disaster-trained volunteers assisted five individuals whose home, located on Long Acre Drive in Bonneau, was destroyed in a fire overnight.

According to volunteers, The Red Cross is meeting the immediate needs of the three adults and two children by providing financial assistance for food and clothing, comfort kits with personal hygiene items, and referrals for their long-term recovery assistance.

To help neighbors affected by disasters, become a Red Cross volunteer or make a financial contribution to Red Cross by calling 843-764-2323 or visiting www.redcross.org/lowcountrysc.

The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides emotional support to victims of disasters; supplies nearly half of the nation’s blood; teaches lifesaving skills; provides international humanitarian aid; and supports military members and their families.

The Red Cross is a charitable organization – not a government agency – and depends on volunteers and the generosity of the American public to perform its mission. For more information, please visit www.redcross.org/lowcountrysc or @RedCrossSC.
