BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–South Carolina State Senator Larry Grooms joined employees from BP’s Cooper River Plant for a town hall Monday to discuss a host of issues ranging from the local economy to the need for transportation infrastructure development.

Approximately 60 BP employees attended the event.

Today BP provides jobs to more than 200 employees and approximately 150 contract employees and pumps more than $100 million a year into the economy through payroll and third-party expenditures.

BP Cooper River contributes about $2 million each year in school and county property taxes.
