Summerville Medical Center Welcomes First Chief Operating Officer

Kevin Scoggin has been named Summerville Medical Center’s (SMC) first Chief Operating Officer.

In this role, Scoggin will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer to ensure operational objectives and results are in accordance with strategic hospital needs.

He will provide leadership in the day-to-day operations of SMC, build strategic partnerships within the organization to execute business strategies and will maintain that products and processes are designed to ensure quality outcomes and customer satisfaction.

“I am excited to be part of the great things already in place at Summerville Medical Center,” said Scoggin. “I look forward to helping continue and further the hospital’s mission.”

A native of San Antonio, Texas, Scoggin comes to SMC from HCA’s Kingwood Medical Center in Kingwood, Texas where since 2012 he served as Associate Chief Operating Officer. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas, and his Master of Health Care Administration degree from Trinity University, San Antonio, Texas.

Scoggin began his healthcare career in 2010 as an administrative resident at OU Medical Center, Oklahoma City, Okla. He brings more than five years of progressive experience to the role.

A member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the United Way, Scoggin resides in Summerville with his wife Sarah and children, Emma and Parker.
