Cypress Gardens To Host Lunch And Botanical Event

cypress gardensBERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–Katie Dickson, Horticulturist from Moore Farms Botanical Garden in Lake City, South Carolina, will be the special keynote speaker at Cypress Gardens’ popular Lunch and Learn series later this month.

Dickson will demonstrate how to incorporate succulents into a traditional summer bouquet to create a one-of-a-kind piece. She will also offer tips and tricks for floral arrangement success.

Dickson has worked as a horticulturist and beekeeper at Moore Farms Botanical Garden for over two years. Previously, she served as Children’s Garden Manager of the South Carolina Botanical Garden and also worked at nurseries in Outer Banks, North Carolina.

Dickson’s favorite flora are xeric and succulent plants. Outside of the garden, she enjoys spending time with family in the Lowcountry, fishing and going on adventures. She earned a degree in Environmental Horticulture from Clemson University.

“This is an interesting and informative presentation for anyone desiring to learn new techniques in floral arrangement design,” explains Heather Graham, Manager for Cypress Gardens.  “Everyone from beginners to seasoned floral experts will benefit from Dickson’s expertise.”

Participants are encouraged to bring their lunch or a dish to share.  Lunch begins at noon with presentations starting at 12:30pm.
