BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–While many young ladies were competing on stage last weekend for the coveted titles of Miss SC USA and Miss SC Teen USA, there were 20 younger girls who had a unique opportunity to see what it was like to be a contestant.

Sydney Duke, the 10-year-old daughter of Charlene and Gerald Duke of Moncks Corner, was selected to participate in the Miss SC/Teen SC USA Fantasy Camp produced by RPM Productions, Inc.

This is for girls ages 10 -14 who spent the weekend at the pageant, which was held at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center on November 20-21.

These girls participated in a variety of activities throughout the day. At the preliminary competition Friday evening, the girls were introduced on stage and competed in both photogenic and congeniality events.

Sydney2Sydney, a fifth grade student at Whitesville Elementary, won the coveted photogenic award.

She was awarded two tickets to the finals on Saturday night where she presented the photogenic award to Miss SC Teen USA contestant Horry County Teen Blakely Lovett.

Her award also included the opportunity to meet and have pictures with the new title holders after the pageant that evening.

Sydney has been active in pageants since the age of four and currently holds multiple titles, including the national Miss Pre-Teen American Beauty title, as well as Miss Pre-teen Berkeley County United States.
