Below, we recently asked Cox the following questions:

1. Why are you seeking election?
My mission is to ensure that the great city of Goose Creek is a safe, affordable and vibrant place to live and raise a family.  We need strong, independent, successful leadership in order to keep the city great and feel like I can benefit the community by bringing my 20 years of global experience to council.

2. What is your educational background?
US Naval School Explosive Ordnance Disposal (NAVSCOLEOD)
US Navy Dive School
US Army Air Assault School
U.S. Department of State Worldwide Personal Protective Services
A.A.S Applied Science

3. What is your current profession?
President and Chief Executive Officer at Threat Management Group  www.threatgroup.com

4. Family?
Wife and three children

5. What changes would you like to bring to Goose Creek?
Not many changes at all, but I would like to evaluate the way our city issues business licenses to identify where we can generate higher profits while creating incentives for business that want to come to our city.

6. Why should voters vote for you over the other candidates?
I am an independent candidate.  I can be a team player, but pledge to be beholden to no one except the voter.  I have a measured successful career that has spanned 20 years of service to my country from time in the military to now as the CEO of a National Security Contracting Firm.  The tri county area is going through many changes and our city needs strong, independent, successful leadership to navigate the growth we are experiencing

7. Anything else worth mentioning?
(My condensed Bio)
Brandon is a military veteran, business professional, steward of US taxpayer dollars, but most importantly a husband and father.  He currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Berkeley County Chamber of Commerce and is part of the strategic planning team for Berkeley Forward.  In addition to his active local community involvement, he is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for a globally recognized National Security Contracting Firm named Threat Management Group (TMG) www.threatgroup.com

He has led TMG’s global effort for over a decade providing Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to various military, foreign and civilian units in Europe, Asia, Malta, Libya and Afghanistan. Under his leadership, Threat Management Group has developed from a start-up company to the well-branded corporation of today.

Prior to his role as CEO, Brandon was active duty Air Force Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) and a graduate of the U.S. Naval School Explosive Ordnance Disposal (NAVSCOLEOD), U.S. Navy Dive School, US Army Air Assault School, U.S. DOS Worldwide Personal Protective Services as well as other certified DOD, DOS, DOE, DTRA and civilian courses. His work while active duty EOD included operations in North Korea, Australia, Europe, South West Asia, South East Asia and other hostile zones.

He later utilized those experiences while performing high end, high threat security for a private military contracting firm in Iraq.  While holding a GS-15 (O-6) equivalent position, he was responsible for performing Personal Security Detail (PSD) work as the Agent-In-Charge (AIC). He protected members of various intelligence agencies, US military VIPs and numerous diplomats. During these missions, Brandon acted as the personal bodyguard for his clients while maintaining a sixteen man PSD Team as they traveled to locations of interest.

Currently, he and his team at TMG work directly with the professionals from the United States Secret Service (USSS), Department of State (DOS), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), Department of Defense (DOD) and other local, state and federal Law Enforcement and First Responders.

  1. Well Brandon, if I still lived in good ol Goose Creek I would vote for you, but I don’t and I am not a liberal, so I won’t break the law, sorry. Take care of my old high school, the original Goose Creek High School for me, I miss it. Good luck with your election, I will put your name to my family members up there for consideration and recommendation.

    • I’m sure you are well aware that political ideology has no bearing on whether someone breaks the or not, but rather their own personal moral values. Moral values are also not present, or absent, in a person because of their political ideology. Neither is common sense, or politeness. All of these qualities have nothing to do with whether you or a democrat, a republican or whatever…

Ps, if you do some research, you’ll find that statistics show that voter fraud occurs within all political parties equally…

      • You are quite wrong on your assumption Jenna. Liberals = no morals, no principles, no common sense, no values, no politeness ( just look at hillary), no backbone, not responsible for anything, no character, selfish, uncaring, incompetent, and corrupt.

        • Im a liberal with morals, values, common sense, politness, self responsibility, & character that’s quite caring, comptent & in no way corrupt. I can admit there are some politicians out there that I feel meet your definition, but my list would have names of people whho are liberal & also conservative. Additionally, I can name politicians from both sides who, like me, have all of those qualities. Please tell me that you don’t actually believe your sweeping generalization, or that conservatives are just the best of the best who exhibit only the finest behaviors..

          • You’re either a closet conservative or someone who thinks they have morals , values etc.

          • It isn’t a generalization, look at the facts. hillary has no morales, common sense, she isn’t responsible for anything, she is a liar and corrupt. Your standard bearer. Sanders also has no morals or values and is not responsible. He wants to take everything from those that have earned and give it to those who want free stuff. Both have no compunction about killing babies for their own irresponsibility (not responsible), which switches depending on their audience at the time (no principles), and can’t figure out where they stand on fags marrying each other (depends on what year it is) (no principle or values), think they are above the law (no values, principles and lack of responsibility), are money and power hungry. I could go on and on. And the sheeple continue to follow (no values, principles, etc, etc). It’s endless. If you have morals, values, principles, etc. you are a racist, homophobe, etc, etc. A conservative or Republican. Si if you have morals (which I doubt), or values (which I doubt), or principles (which I doubt) then you are really a conservative and just can’t go against the sheeple. Which means you have no backbone (morals, principles, values, etc) Which is it?

          • You have obviously have a comprehension issue &/or refuse to see anything outside your own point of view. If you only see liberals have a lack of values, while conservatives always having them, then I guess there is nothing I can say to you that would change that. At this point, I could care less if you think I do or don’t have morals, values & principals, because I have started thinking the same of you. In my opinion, you lack all of those qualities, as well as an education & I won’t waste anymore of my time continuing to ague with an unreasonable child….

          • Nope. I speak the truth. Which, you refuse to accept. Tell me hillary doesn’t lie. Tell me she has principles, which one. Oh, you can’t can you? Which value does she have? Does she stand for women? Tell that to the female muslims and the women her husband abused. Does she have values. Obviously not. Example her operating above the law. So, tell what morals, values, principles she has. The one about marriage is between a man and a woman or the one where she support gay marriage. Maybe the principle she has is the one against war. Sorry, can’t be that one because she voted to go into Iraq. Give me one. Support your comprehension.
