Mayor Proclaims ‘Kids To Parks Day’ In Goose Creek

GOOSE CREEK, S.C.–Saturday, May 21, 2016 has been proclaimed “Kids to Parks Day” in Goose Creek by Mayor Michael Heitzler.

Kids to Parks Day was organized and launched by the National Park Trust six years ago. It encourages families to get outside and take advantage of the nation’s parks.

“We should encourage children to lead a more active lifestyle to combat the issues of childhood obesity,” among other diseases, the proclamation reads. “Kids to Parks Day will broaden children’s appreciation for nature and the outdoors.”
