Authorities: Two Inmates Captured, One Still At Large

Deputies say that two of the escaped inmates were found at a residence on Foxborough Drive in Goose Creek.

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–According to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, Michael Bryan Chaplin and Matthew Daniel Chaplin are both in custody.

Still at large is Donald Ray Little Jr., age 34, 6’00” tall and approx 165 pounds. All three escaped from the Dorchester County Jail during the early morning hours of June 24th.

After the extensive manhunt yesterday, deputies from the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office along with Charleston County Sheriff’s Office, Goose Creek Police Department, SCHP, SCDNR and other area law enforcement agencies worked throughout Sunday following up on various leads until it was determined that the escapees were at a residence on Foxborough Drive in Goose Creek.

Special tactical teams from both the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office and the Goose Creek Police Department surrounded the location were the escapees were believed to be.

Negotiators were able to establish contact with target location whereupon Michael Bryan Chaplin and Matthew Daniel Chaplin surrendered. They were turned over to the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office. Further charges from their crimes in Berkeley County are forthcoming.
