BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–We’re just two days away from Coonfest 2016.
Hundreds of people are expected to show up for the big event on Coon Island.
The fun kicks off at 12 p.m. on Saturday (July 30th) and runs until 6 p.m. Access is by boat only.
Local band, Broken Arrow, will be performing live on the water.
“We will have hot dogs and boiled peanuts as well as t-shirts and koozies on the Comonawanalya tiki boat,” stated organizers.
As always, the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, South Carolina Department of Natural Resources and the Berkeley County Rescue Squad will be patrolling the event to make sure everyone stays safe.
The event is free to the public. According to the organizers, money raised from event purchases will go to local charities.
