Moncks Corner Police: Man Charged With Murder After Fatally Stabbing Woman

MONCKS CORNER, S.C.–According to the Moncks Corner Police Department, a North Charleston man is behind bars following the stabbing of a woman in Moncks Corner Saturday night.

Police say around 9:15 p.m. officers from the Moncks Corner Police Department responded to 166 Bradley Road in reference to an assault.

When they arrived on scene they say the victim, a 38-year-old black woman, was found with multiple stab wounds.  Police say she was transported to a local hospital but later died from her injuries.

The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office identified the victim’s name as Shanda Davis.

Through information and investigation, officers with the Moncks Corner Police Department say they eventually arrested 24-year-old Edward Isiah Nelson of 225 Bailey Drive in North Charleston.

He has been charged with the victim’s murder. His bond hearing will be held Monday at the Hill Finklea Detention Center at 7:00 p.m.
