Police: Driver Charged After Crashing Semi Into Moncks Corner Huddle House

MONCKS CORNER, S.C.–On January 30, 2017, at about 1:37  am, the Moncks Corner Police Department responded to the Huddle House, Hwy 52, in Moncks Corner. There, police began a traffic accident investigation where a semi-truck ran into the Huddle House restaurant.

Officers of the Police Department determined the semi-truck was traveling too fast for conditions and was unable to negotiate the turn at the intersection of Hwy-52 and 17A, and ran into the restaurant causing damage to the restaurant.

The driver was transported to Trident Hospital in North Charleston with non-life threatening injuries.

There were no other injuries.

There were two employees in the restaurant who reported no injuries.

The truck driver was charged with Careless Operation. The driver is 57 year old Arthur Hacker, from Summerville SC, driving a semi-truck registered to Covenant Transport, Muncie, IN.
