GOOSE CREEK, S.C.–The Berkeley County School District will receive 15 new propane-fueled school buses at their Westview Bus Lot in Goose Creek on Thursday morning, March 2.
The cleaner fuel buses will then begin their first routes that same afternoon.
“We are excited to receive these new propane buses and even more excited to include the buses on our routes Thursday afternoon,” said BCSD Director of Transportation Wes Fleming. “The new buses will serve student routes at 12 Goose Creek and Summerville area schools. Receiving these new buses allows us to retire some of our aging fleet and provide a more efficient and reliable service for our students.”
Use of the new buses will be divided among the following schools:
- Five buses to College Park Elementary
- Five buses to Sangaree Elementary and Sangaree Intermediate
- Three buses to Westview Primary and Westview Elementary
- One bus to Nexton Elementary
- One bus to Devon Forest Elementary
These buses will also service middle and high schools in the feeder pattern of the above schools to include: College Park Middle, Sangaree Middle, Westview Middle, Cane Bay High, and Stratford High Schools.
