Overton Beach Park Opens May 27th

MONCKS CORNER, S.C. – The 400-foot beachfront swimming area at Santee Cooper’s Overton Beach Park on Lake Moultrie opens Saturday, May 27, and remains open through Labor Day.

Overton Beach Park, located five miles north of Moncks Corner, will be open daily to the public from

10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with certified lifeguards on duty. Hours will be limited to weekends (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.) once Berkeley County schools resume on Aug. 17.

Admission is $2 per person for ages 4 and up. A $40 family season pass allows admission for up to four people per vehicle. Annual passes to Old Santee Canal Park are not valid at Overton. Shelter rentals are $25 each for the two smaller shelters (groups up to 25) and $50 for the larger shelter (groups up to 25).

Directions to Overton Park from Moncks Corner: Take U.S. Highway 52 toward Florence, and turn left on Powerhouse Road. Veer right on Black Oak Road and travel 1.5 miles. Turn left on Short Stay Road, and make the first right onto Overton Park Lane. If traveling from Bonneau, St. Stephen or other areas to the north, the turn for Powerhouse Road will be on your right.
