New Data Says SC Ranks High For “Rude Drivers”

VIA 123RF.COM

South Carolina may be known for its southern charm, but a new survey suggests that its drivers have the worst behavior when behind the wheel.

The survey was done as part of Kars 4 Kids summer driving awareness campaign to promote courteous driving. South Carolina was rated 49th in the country only behind New York.

The organization asked drivers in 50 states questions like “How often do you signal,” “Would you steal someone’s parking spot,” “Do you let a car merge in front of you in heavy traffic,” and graded each state’s response. You can see the full survey results here.

The survey ranks Idaho #1 for the state with the most “courteous drivers.”

The campaign is called Drive Human, with the goal of reminding drivers that they share the road with other people not faceless cars. The organization hopes that this results in safer and less stressful roads this summer.

In addition to the survey, the organization has partnered with Driver’s Ed schools around the country to implement a courteous driving guide.
