BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–The reorganization of the Berkeley County School District (BCSD) office is complete, ahead of the July 1 target, and the new organizational charts have been shared with district and school level leaders.

The organizational structure previously approved by the Berkeley County School District Board of Trustees on May 23 reduced district office staff by eight positions.

At the regular meeting of the Board on June 13, School Board Chair Sally Wofford announced that the Berkeley County School District (BCSD) Board of Trustees had approved an expedited implementation of the reorganizational structure of the district office to begin immediately and be fully implemented by July 1.

“The expedited implementation of the district office reorganization allowed all of our employees time to plan for the upcoming school year,” said Board Chair Sally Wofford. “Providing this additional time also allowed our employees the opportunity to adjust to their new roles and acclimate themselves to new responsibilities.”

The organizational changes and adjustments, projected to save the district in excess of 1 million dollars, will streamline processes and communication to serve the students, communities, and employees of Berkeley County more efficiently.

“We appreciate the recommendations and support we received from Harding Parker and Associates LLC during this transitionary time and commend Interim Superintendent Deon Jackson and his staff for working diligently to complete this reorganization ahead of schedule,” Wofford added. “Everyone at BCSD is looking forward to a fresh start this school year and have steadily prepared these last few months to support all of our amazing students and their families.”
