DANIEL ISLAND, S.C.–Organizers are gearing up for the sixth annual ‘9/11 Heroes Run’ on Daniel Island. The 5K event is scheduled for Saturday, September 9th.
Race proceeds will be used to directly support the Travis Manion Foundation’s mission to empower our nation’s veterans and families of our fallen heroes to develop character in future generations in order to strengthen communities.
The local beneficiaries of this year’s event are the Berkeley County Rescue Squad and North Charleston Fire Department. This means a portion of the proceeds generated from the event will go toward helping the agencies with its efforts to continue providing its services to the community 24/7 and FREE of charge.
For runners/walkers eager to take part in the event, early-bird registration is now open. Those who sign up will receive a participant t-shirt, free swag bag and four free admission tickets to the Charleston Battery game on September 9th! Registration prices will increase August 1st.
For those looking to start a team, they can easily create one online. They may also run on behalf of one of the local beneficiaries–either the Berkeley County Rescue Squad or NCFD.

NEW THIS YEAR…COME HANG OUT WITH SOME OF CHARLESTON’S HOTTEST HEROES! That’s right, some of Charleston’s hottest and bravest men and women in uniform will be in attendance collecting donations, and competing to see which one can raise the most money for our 9/11 Heroes Run!!!
These men and women risk it all for our city, so let’s show our appreciation, while also helping them claim the title of “CHARLESTON’S HOTTEST HERO”! Doors open at 6PM. This is a limited-capacity, private party event and you must have a ticket to enter! General admission tickets are $20 and include 3 free drink tickets (beer only) and one entry into the raffle of your choice! This event is a fundraiser sponsored by Bohemian Bull, DJ C and Charleston Charm Entertainment, with proceeds benefitting the 9/11 Heroes Run – Charleston!
