Goose Creek Police Investigating St. James Avenue Murder

GOOSE CREEK, S.C.–Goose Creek police are actively looking for a suspect they say is responsible for a shooting that occurred on Wednesday night in the heart of the city.

Around 8:30 p.m., a GCPD patrol officer heard what was believed to be shots fired from the area of St. James Ave. and Gainesborough Rd.

A second officer located a vehicle that had been shot on St. James Ave. near Stratford Dr.

Police say a male victim in the vehicle was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound(s).

Medics were summoned and transported the victim for treatment and we have since learned he passed.

The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office was notified to assist in the investigation.

GCPD crime scene technicians and investigators responded and processed two crime scenes.  Officers say the only information available regarding a responsible party is the report of a fleeing white in color Mercedes or BMW.

This vehicle was captured on Walmart’s surveillance camera following the victim vehicle out of the parking lot.

It also matches the description of the suspect vehicle provided by witnesses at the shooting scene. It has aftermarket rims. Police do not have tag information. The vehicle is believed to have left the scene (St. James Ave. at Gainesborough Rd.) back toward Walmart.
