14-Year-Old Killed While Riding 4-Wheeler

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office has identified the teen killed in an ATV accident over the weekend.

Deputy Coroner Kristin Mazzell has identified the victim as Brianna Bracy, 14, of Summerville.

On Sunday, deputies responded to the Trinity Place Easement behind 525 Temple Road in the Ladson area in response to a 4-wheeler accident.

When law enforcement arrived on the scene, they located Bracy lying in a ditch unresponsive.

According to a witness, she was riding on the back of the ATV while Bracy drove. The two then came up to a sharp left turn on the easement when Bracy mistakenly hit the gas instead of the brake, causing them to slide off into a ditch. Investigators stated that the four-wheeler landed on top of Bracy.

The second rider began screaming for help, according to the incident report. Several people then responded to the scene and removed the ATV off of Bracy and attempted to render aid while waiting for first responders to arrive.

The teen’s cause of death was determined to be blunt force trauma.

Authorities say the victim was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help pay for the teen’s funeral expenses. To donate, click here.

Bracy was a freshman at Cane Bay High School.
