Queen Charlotte Coming to Moncks Corner

PROVIDED

MONCKS CORNER, S.C.–Her most gracious royal majesty Queen Charlotte, wife to King George III, is coming to Moncks Corner!

The Queen has heard much of the distant colony of Carolina and is anxious to see this enchanting land and meet its nobility.

All young princes, princesses and true friends of the Crown, are invited to visit with her at The Berkeley County Museum and Heritage Center at 950 Stony Landing Road on Saturday, Dec. 16, from 1 to 4 p.m. Feel free to come in modern dress, or wear your finest regal attire.

Her majesty, a native of Germany, has graciously agreed to meet and greet Carolina’s finest families, take pictures and explain the tradition of Christmas trees which she introduced to the English Court. In honor of her visit, attendees are also invited to make paper-ornaments to either take back to their castle or to hang on the tree at the museum.

Music, refreshments, and festive holiday decorations will also be part of the event.

Tickets for this event, sold at the gate, are included with the $3 per person regular admission to the Old Santee Canal Park. Children 6 and under admitted free.
