MONCKS CORNER, S.C. – State-owned utility Santee Cooper has announced its spring and summer hours for the Pinopolis Lock at the Jefferies Hydroelectric Station on Lake Moultrie.
Effective Tuesday, April 10, the lock will operate from 9 a.m. (or 30 minutes after sunrise, whichever is later), to 7:30 p.m. (or 30 minutes before sunset, whichever is earlier). Digital signage at the lock will display the current operating status.
Please remember that the lock does not operate during thunderstorms or rough-water conditions. Occasionally, it is necessary to take the lock out of service for periodic maintenance or repair. If you have a large party of boats you are encouraged to call in advance. The telephone number is 843-899-LOCK (5625).
