Coroner Identifies Elderly Couple Killed in Ladson House Fire

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office has released the names of the elderly couple who passed away Wednesday morning after their house caught on fire.

At 8:25 a.m., Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury stated that 9-1-1 dispatchers received a call of a house fire at 112 Ponderosa Drive in the Tall Pines community of Berkeley County.

The first fire department arrived and entered through the front door and found a male on the floor near the door.

He was removed and turned over to Berkeley County EMS who transported him to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The coroner stated that the female was found in the den near her hospital bed on the floor.  She was removed to the front of the home and also pronounced dead.

The male was identified as 80-year-old Donald Infinger. The deceased female was his wife, 75-year-old Marilyn Infinger, according to Salisbury.

The fire is being investigated by the Berkeley Sheriff’s Office who called SLED fire investigation unit to assist.  The bodies will be autopsied and more information will then be released.
