GOOSE CREEK, S.C.–On Sunday, November 15th, 2015, at approximately 1:00 p.m., GCPD officers were dispatched to the Kangaroo convenience store at 215 Redbank Rd. in reference to a shooting that occurred near the gas pumps, Captain John Grainger stated.

Authorities say officers met with several witnesses who described the incident.

The victim, 22-year-old Antwon Flute, was located at the Heritage Baptist Church a short distance away and had suffered a gunshot wound to the buttocks.

Flute was transported to Trident Medical Center for treatment.

Grainger says a vehicle believed to have fled the area with the shooter was located at the American Legion on Howe Hall Rd. The vehicle was towed for processing, he added.

Grainger also added that it is believed that Flute will recover from his injury.

Investigators are following solid leads despite the lack of cooperation provided by Flute, police say.
