PINEVILLE, S.C.–The only grocery store in Pineville and a community favorite was destroyed by fire Monday morning.
Multiple agencies responded to 2321 Highway 35 shortly before 8 a.m. to find White’s Grocery fully engulfed in flames.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
Crews say it took about two hours to extinguish the fire.
“It was an old country store. Locals also played pool there–a dying breed gone,” stated Lamont Lampkin.
For those who called the area home, they say White’s Grocery had the best deli meats and cheese.
It’s unknown if the owners plan to rebuild.
