BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office has arrested four men for sex crimes against a child. Deputies said the arrests were made possible through a multi-agency collaboration with BCSO, the North Charleston Police Department and the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force.
William Lazo, 18; Kendall Ford, 33; Alejandro Escalante Lanza, 18, and a 17-year-old juvenile have been arrested and charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor in the second degree.
On May 29, members of the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, North Charleston Police Department, and the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force initiated search warrants on multiple residences within Berkeley and Charleston Counties. The search warrants were executed as a result of a pending investigation.
The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office is actively searching for a fifth suspect that is involved with this investigation.
