Mobile Home Gutted By Fire In Huger

HUGER, S.C. – A fire destroyed a mobile home in Huger on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Cainhoy Fire Department.

Just before 3 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to a structure fire on Highway 41 in Huger.

When crews arrived on the scene, they found the home fully engulfed in flames.

“It was confirmed that nobody was in the building and crews began a defensive fire attack. The fire was placed under control at 3:22 p.m.,” CFD posted to Facebook.

Crews remained at the scene for several hours to extinguish hot spots.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

East Berkeley Fire Department, Mount Pleasant Fire Department and Berkeley County EMS also responded to the scene.

Firefighters cleared the scene shortly after 5 p.m.
