BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – Authorities have made an arrest in connection with a fatal DUI crash that occurred last month in Summerville.
According to the Summerville Police Department, Sir Anthony Campbell, 21, of Goose Creek, turned himself in to police Wednesday morning, May 1. He faces a felony charge of driving under the influence involving death following a high-speed collision that took place on April 12.

Police said Campbell was driving northbound on North Main Street around 2 a.m. when he ran a red light at the intersection with Berlin G. Myers Parkway. His vehicle struck another car and overturned in the crash.
A backseat passenger in Campbell’s car, 21-year-old Dakari T. McCutchen of Moncks Corner, sustained critical injuries and later died. SPD’s traffic safety unit continues to investigate the incident.
Authorities report Campbell’s blood alcohol content at the time of the crash was 0.282% — more than three times the legal limit in South Carolina.
Campbell has been booked into the Berkeley County Detention Center, where he awaits a bond hearing for his involvement in the fatal Summerville DUI crash.
