Teen Arrested in Fatal Hanahan Shooting

HANAHAN, S.C. – Hanahan police have arrested a Charleston teenager following a fatal shooting that occurred Monday night in the city.

Deonte Calden Trevon Lancit, 18, has been charged with armed robbery in connection with the shooting that occurred this week on Bowen Pier Drive.

“The investigation is still ongoing,” HCPD posted to Facebook. “This seems to be an isolated event with no apparent community risk.”

Police responded to the scene of the shooting just after 9 p.m., where they found the lifeless body of a teenager. Berkeley County Coroner Darnell Hartwell identified the shooting victim as Tra’sean White, 18, of Wadmalaw Island.

Police did not say if Lancit is the suspect accused of shooting and killing White.

He currently remains behind bars at the Hill-Finklea Detention Center in Moncks Corner where he is awaiting a bond hearing.
