BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – Berkeley County property owners, check your mail — if your property value changed this year, you’ve likely received an assessment notice.
The notices, mailed earlier this month, are not tax bills but serve as alerts to changes in your property’s value or assessment for Tax Year 2025. These updates could be triggered by renovations, new construction, property transfers, the loss of a 4% legal residency status, or other major changes.
SEE ALSO:
If you believe your new assessment is incorrect, you have until July 31, 2025 to file an appeal. Appeals must be submitted in writing and can be filed online via the OneBerkeley Portal at portal.berkeleycountysc.gov. Supporting documents can be attached to strengthen your case.
If you’re not disputing your notice, no action is needed.
To view your assessment notice online, check your property card at this link. For help estimating future taxes, visit the Berkeley County Auditor’s Tax Estimator online.
