That’s right. The quiet Lowcountry town is turning into a film set as Tona B. Dahlquist Casting puts out a call for locals to appear in the upcoming thriller Suburban Psycho, now filming in the Charleston area.
Whether you’re an adult with an edgy look or a neighbor-next-door type, the casting team may have a spot for you on camera.

Recently, the agency announced they’re specifically seeking extras for upcoming scenes to be shot in Moncks Corner and nearby areas. No acting experience required — just the right look and a little time to spare.
“Anyone working on this project must work as a local hire to the Charleston area. No travel or other expenses will be paid,” one post reads. “Pay rate is $112 for the day.”
Roles include high school students, neighbors, joggers, office workers, and background townspeople. It’s a unique opportunity for residents to be part of the Hollywood action — no plane ticket to L.A. needed.
About the Film
Suburban Psycho is being kept largely under wraps, but with a title like that, it’s safe to say the story packs a suspenseful punch. It’s the kind of creepy, slow-burn thriller that loves a quiet Southern backdrop, making Moncks Corner the perfect place to film.
The working title could change, but the film is part of a growing number of productions filming in the Charleston region.
