
BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – Home Telecom crews are working diligently to repair two separate fiber cuts that have disrupted internet and cellular service across parts of Goose Creek and Carnes Crossroads.
The first outage, caused by roadside mowing equipment, occurred near Mount Holly Road. Impacted areas include Old Mt Holly Rd, St. James Ave, Sweet Cherry Ln, Sunray Ln, Farm Rd, and S. Goose Creek Blvd.

Meanwhile, in the Carnes Crossroads area, road construction led to another fiber line being severed.

The outage is affecting local businesses and institutions such as Roper St. Francis, Northwood Academy, Verizon Wireless, Solomon Family Dentistry, and Carolyn Lewis School. Neighborhoods like Buckler St, Quintan St, Eliston St, Parish Farms Rd, Ashby St, Marchman St, Grimbal St, Hewitt St, Bloomfield St, and Charger St are also impacted.
“Due to the storm and the extensive repairs needed to our equipment, we now expect full restoration by midnight,” the utility company posted to Facebook.
Home Telecom emphasized that while their crews were not responsible for the damage, they are working as quickly as possible to restore service.
