BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – Berkeley County Library System (BCLS) is kicking off Summer Reading 2025 with a burst of color and creativity. Starting now, families can pick up free “Color Your Own Bag!” and “Color Your Own Suncatcher!” kits at any BCLS location, while supplies last.

The interactive kits are part of the Summer Reading 2025 theme, Color Our World, and are designed to spark imagination and hands-on fun for all ages. Children from birth to 5 years old and ages 6 and up can decorate a cloth tote bag using their own or provided markers.

Teens and adults, ages 14 and up, can enjoy the “Color Your Own Suncatcher” kit for a more intricate art experience.

Participants are encouraged to share their finished artwork by scanning the QR code included with the kit or visiting the library’s survey link. Uploading completed creations not only promotes community engagement but also enters users into BCLS’s social media spotlight.

These creative kits were made possible through a Summer Reading and Learning Program (SRLP) grant from the Institute for Museum and Library Services via the South Carolina State Library.
