88-Year-Old Man Killed in Moncks Corner Crash ID’d

The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office confirmed that Christopher Jenkins, an 88-year-old resident of St. Stephen, died in a crash on Hwy. 52 in Moncks Corner.

MONCKS CORNER, S.C. — Authorities have identified the victim in a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred on North Highway 52 in Moncks Corner on Thursday afternoon.

The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office confirmed that Christopher Jenkins, an 88-year-old resident of St. Stephen, was the sole occupant of a 2005 Lexus SUV when the accident took place. Jenkins was pronounced dead at the scene.

Emergency responders, including Berkeley County EMS, the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, and Moncks Corner Fire & Rescue, were dispatched to the crash site shortly after receiving reports at 12:51 p.m.

Officials have not provided further details about the circumstances surrounding the crash.
