BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – A reality star with Lowcountry roots will spend the next 30 days behind bars following her recent DUI conviction. Kathryn Calhoun Dennis, who previously starred in Bravo’s hit show “Southern Charm” for eight seasons, was booked into the Hill Finklea Detention Center on Friday, jail records show.
The conviction stems from the 34-year-old’s DUI arrest last year in Goose Creek where she was charged with driving under the influence and transporting alcohol in a motor vehicle with a broken seal.
According to court records, the crash happened on May 20, 2024, when the driver of a 2012 Honda sedan was stopped in northbound traffic on Highway 52 in Goose Creek. Investigators say Dennis, who was driving a 2018 GMC pickup truck, failed to slow down and rear-ended a 2017 Nissan pickup. The impact pushed the Nissan into the back of the Honda, causing a chain-reaction crash.

A lawsuit filed on behalf of the Honda driver states that the victim, “suffered serious bodily injury, pain and suffering, and will continue to do so in the future.”
That driver is seeking punitive damages and has requested a jury trial in Berkeley County Common Pleas Court.
