BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. — A pedestrian was killed Monday evening after being struck by a vehicle on Jedburg Road, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Master Trooper Brandon Bolt said the crash happened at approximately 6:37 p.m. on Feb. 16 at the intersection of Jedburg Road and Strathmore Road.

Troopers reported that the collision involved two units: a pedestrian, who has since died, and a 2009 Nissan Sentra. The driver of the Nissan was the only occupant in the vehicle.

According to investigators, the pedestrian was standing in the roadway on Jedburg Road when the westbound Nissan struck them.

Officials have not released the identity of the victim. There was no immediate word on whether the driver was injured.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol said the crash remains under investigation.
