The first event will take place from 10 a.m. to noon at the Goose Creek Library. A second session will follow from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Sangaree Library.

Officials say the events are designed to help both first-time voters and experienced voters better understand South Carolina’s voting process.

“Join us for an informative South Carolina voting event designed to help voters confidently navigate the election process,” said Jenifer White of the South Carolina Election Commission. “Whether you are a first-time voter or simply want a refresher on your voting options, this event provides clear, practical guidance to help you make a plan to vote and ensure your voice is heard in South Carolina elections.”

During the sessions, attendees will learn how to register to vote, including eligibility requirements, registration deadlines and the different ways residents can register online, by mail or in person.

Officials will also explain early voting, which allows registered voters to cast ballots in person during the two-week period leading up to Election Day at designated county locations.

Additional topics will include absentee voting, accessibility features available on voting equipment and hands-on demonstrations allowing residents to practice using election machines.

Staff from the South Carolina Election Commission will also be available to answer questions about the voting process.

Residents seeking more information about the event can contact Berkeley County Library Director Gene Brunson at 843-719-4223 or gene.brunson@berkeleycountysc.gov.
