BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.— Berkeley County spokesperson Chip Boling confirms that Bob Mixter, the director for Berkeley EMS, has resigned from his position.
Boling says Mixter stepped down from his position on Wednesday but the county spokesperson did not say what prompted him to do so.
Becky Blair, the Deputy Director of BCEMS, has been named the interim director, and Boling says she will serve in that role until a replacement is found.
Mixter served as a paramedic and in emergency medical response for more than 30 years.
He was employed by Berkeley County EMS for more than twenty years and began his career as a crew member before being promoted to training officer, deputy director and eventually director.
