Traffic stop leads to cocaine trafficking arrest

GOOSE CREEK, S.C.– A routine traffic stop on Highway 52 and Medway Road, near Goose Creek, led to a bit of a surprise for deputies, when they say they discovered a white powdery substance in the driver’s seat of the car they pulled over.

Deputies say the substance tested positive for cocaine and the driver was arrested by the Drug Enforcement Unit of the Berkeley County Sheriff’s office for being a suspected drug trafficker.

Deangelo Laprince Brown, 28, of Goose Creek, was charged with two counts of trafficking cocaine after officers say they found 11 gross grams of cocaine on him. ย  Officers say after they obtained a search warrant, 22 gross grams were found in his apartment, along with two gross grams of marijuana.

Brown has been also charged with driving with a suspended license, after his license was discovered to be suspended.
