GOOSE CREEK, S.C.โ€”Goose Creek Police have released the identity of the man they say took a manager inside the Royal Lanes bowling alley hostage Tuesday evening.

According to Captain John Grainger, Gary Fraley faces multiple charges including attempted murder and kidnapping.

โ€œAdditional charges are likely as the investigation continues,โ€ Grainger stated.

Fraleyโ€™s bond on the initial charges will be set in the Goose Creek Municipal Court at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday.

โ€œThis is an ongoing investigation,โ€ stated Grainger. โ€œThere is no further information to provide at this time.โ€

Around 5:30 p.m. the Royal Lanes bowling alley on Central Avenue was evacuated after a shot was fired inside the building.

Police stated that Fraley had entered the managerโ€™s office and fired a single shot. Luckily, no one was injured.

A SWAT team along with the assistance of Charleston County hostage negotiators were called to the scene.

Grainger stated that Fraley was taken into custody after officers tased him around 7 p.m.

So far, the motive of the crime is unclear or Fraleyโ€™s possible relationship to the manager.
