On Wednesday, Richland County Coroner Gary Watts released the identities of the two people killed in an apparent murder-suicide that occurred over the weekend at the Copper Beech Townhouse Community in Columbia.

โ€œBecause the investigation is ongoing, there is nothing more to add at this time. Our thoughts are with the individuals and their families,โ€ wrote a representative on behalf of the complexโ€™s official Twitter page. “We are working in full cooperation with the RCSD.”

Watts stated that the autopsies were completed Wednesday morning. He stated that 20-year-old Diamoney Greene was the victim of a single gunshot wound to the head and died at the scene.

Greene is from Berkeley County and a 2012 graduate of Timberland High School. While in high school, she played on the schoolโ€™s volleyball team.

She was living in Richland County while attending the University of South Carolina and

pursuing a degree in criminal justice. According to sources, Greeneโ€™s father is also an agent with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.

The coroner added that 21-year-old Brandon Early of Goose Creek died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head and also died on the scene.

According to Lt. Curtis Wilson with the Richland County Sheriffโ€™s Office, a roommate found the two dead Tuesday in the 2100 building of the complex before dialing 9-1-1.

Wilson confirmed Greene and Early were dating but that there had been no previous documented cases of violence between them.

The coroner added that the Richland County Coronerโ€™s Office and the Richland County Sherriffโ€™s Department continue to investigate the case.
