BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–Berkeley County Interim Sheriff Rick Ollic announced this afternoon a new initiative to put more deputies into the neighborhoods they serve.

“The Cops in Community” program will begin Monday and open satellite sheriff’s offices across the county at no added expense to the taxpayers.

Satellite offices will be located at:

  • The Water and Sewer plant (at the water tower) in Sangaree
  • The Goose Creek Magistrate’s Office on Highway 52
  • The EMS building on Cainhoy Rd. in the Huger community
  • The Pineville Circle Community Center in Pineville

The sheriff’s office is also exploring the possibility of locating one at the Cross Health Center on Highway Six in the Cross community.

“As Acting Sheriff, I now have the ability to enact changes that I believe will better serve the residents of Berkeley County,” said Ollic. “Today’s announcement is just one step in better protecting our residents and improving the relationship between the Sheriff’s Office and the community.”
