
GOOSE CREEK, S.C.–Early Thursday morning, multiple fire agencies along with EMS responded to a fire at JW Aluminum on Old Mount Holly Road in Goose Creek.
The fire reportedly started around 5:40 a.m. Flames were reportedly seen in the plant’s roof over the melter.
Fire crews with both Goose Creek and Pine Ridge quickly extinguished the flames.
Officials said no one was injured during the incident and the plant is operating as usual.
“Although we do everything possible to prevent incidents like this from occurring, they are not at all atypical in our industry. Safety is our main priority and zero injuries is our goal,” said Lee McCarter, Chief Executive Officer.
