BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–The Berkeley County Sheriffโ€™s Office has released surveillance video that shows a wanted suspect fleeing a traffic stop after the deputy initially tased him on Tuesday morning.

Authorities say the deputy conducted the traffic stop after noticing the car was missing a bumper.

The video shows aย car, occupied two times, pulling into a convenience store on Howe Hall Road in Goose Creek. A deputy then approaches the vehicle from the passengerโ€™s side and one of the occupants rolls down the window.

A strong odor of marijuana could be smelled from inside the car, authorities stated.

Investigators said that the wanted man refused to step out of the car when asked and crawled over his friend to get away from the officer.

Thatโ€™s when the video shows the deputy running around near the driverโ€™s side of the car to tase the suspect who ย falls to the ground.

Theย video then shows the deputy losing his balance and falling backward. As a result, the suspect was able to get away.

The deputy then calls for backup. The second suspect, a teenager named Jamichael Laron Blair who was the driver, remained in the car.

He was eventually taken out of the vehicleย and placed in handcuffs. Blair has beenย charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
