Power Restored to 13,000+ Berkeley Electric Customers

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–More than 13,000 Berkeley Electric customers were left in the dark for about thirty minutes after losing power Monday.

The outage also resulted inย member transactions unable to be temporarily be processed.

The good news is that the power was fully restored by 10:30 a.m. Monday.

According to a spokesperson with Berkeleyย Electric, a contractor working in the area broke a transmission pole.

Santee Cooper had to drop transmission in order to facilitateย the repair.

“We apologize for the inconvenience,” stated a company spokesperson via social media. “Thank you for your patience!”
